On March, 2 with the assistance of The State Committee of Health and Safety at Work and office of IBL in Ukraine presentation of project «Improvement of the state of safety and hygiene of labour on workplaces by providing of terms of decent labour» took place.

One of primary purposes of project were marked: estimation of losses for the national economy from industrial accidents and professional diseases; introduction of method of losses and benefits in the system connection with the policy of economy and employment; development of the national program of actions in the field of labour protection; development of social partners’ capacity in elaboration of instruments for the improvement of labour protection policy; assistance in the ratification of basic conventions of ILO in the field of labour protection etc.

It is planned to focus the project on the sector of agriculture and small and medium business (SME), whereas there exist difficulties with realization of labour protection actions.

Steering council of the project will be formed from the representatives of The State Committee of Health and Safety at Work , Ministry of labour, Ministry of health, Ministry of finance, Joint representative body of employers at national level, organizations of trade unions.
