BUSINESSEUROPE ( the Confederation of European Business) was created in 1949 as Conseil des Fédérations Industrielles d'Europe (CIFE). From 1958 till 1st of January 2007 the organization used the name Union des Industries de la Communauté européenne (UNICE). From 2007 the organization is called BUSINESSEUROPE from 33 countries of European Union, the European Economic Area countries, and some central end Eastern European countries.
Currently the organization unites 39 members.
The main tasks of the BUSINESSEUROPE are promotion of reforms for economic growth and employment, promotion of integration, support of European institutions, fight against protectionism and support of creation of the secure, competitive and environmentally friendly energy saving system, promotion of reforms in the European social system.
The main fields of activity:
- promotion of the entrepreneurial activity,
- promotion of the innovations,
- improvement of the situation on the labor market and on the internal market ,
- increase of efficiency of the environment protection
- promotion of investment in the international trade.
