Program on Prevention of Human Trafficking / Technical Assistance Projects
International Labour Organization in cooperation with International Centre for Migration Policy Development implements the project on Prevention of Human Trafficking from Ukraine that is financed within the frameworks of European Commission’s Program AENEAS and by the Ireland Government.
The actual issues of the Program’s implementation are linked with the great number of labour migrants from Ukraine that reach at least 2 million of people by experts’ evaluations. The majority of migrants have unregulated status in the context of employment in such countries as Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, German and Great Britain. They work in sectors, where labour is exhausting and informal labour relations, e.g., building, agriculture, catering institutions, house working and entertainment industry are disseminated. Migrants with unregulated status are the most vulnerable to the human trafficking and to the usage of their forced labour.
The Partners of the Program are: Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of Ukraine, Ministry for Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine, State Employment Office, other executive bodies, social partners and non-governmental organizations.
The aims of the Program:
- Effective implementation of the State Program on Prevention of Human Trafficking;
- Improvement of the settlement instruments of migration processes and prevention of human trafficking;
- Strengthening of the national partners’ potential in exposure of criminal actions that are connected with unregulated migration and human trafficking and their prevention;
- Rise of awareness level of potential migrants and potential injured persons from human trafficking about migration and ways of legal job placement abroad;
- Broadening of access of injured persons from human trafficking to the services of social and economic reintegration.
